Check engine light

i took my car into my college's auto building yesterday for them to scan my car for the check engineligh and it cam up at a

cam shaft sensor failure

 

how bad is that

 

they said if the new sensor dosent get rid of the code i have to get a new magnetic something ( he trailed off)

 

lmk how bad my car is Fkd up lol

Basically your injectors will default to "batch-fire" instead of being sequentially activated. It won't cause any serious damage to your engine, so you can sit this one out 'till you have the money to fix it...

well i got my car back today and the sensor didnt do the job

 

i hvae to take my car back in about 2 weeks and they have to take the front of my engine off to get to the timing chain?

 

they said they need to reeplace magnets

 

i figure while im up here at college and can get it worked on for free why not
