jimalypse Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 My stock alternator is powerful enough to run my system(stereo). but my voltage regulator is really slow. is there any way I can modify the voltage regulator or if bigger more powerful alernators have quicker VRs. by the way my stock alternator puts out 120 amps is says. I looked it up on the internet. Quote
gmrulz4u Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 You have a CS130 or CS130D alternator, meaning the Voltage Regulator is a part of/inside the alternator itself. It's not external. Meaning you'd REALLY have to know what you were doing just to change the regulator, let alone try to modify it. Here's a good pic of what your Voltage Regulator looks like: http://www.allproducts.com.tw/manufacture3/usi/03.html There's probably places that sell better or faster regulators for your alternator, but if you get one, you'll have to know how to take the alternator apart if you want to change it yourself... I wouldn't even TRY to modify the one you have now... Quote
Robby1870 Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 yeah, I would suggest a higher amperage alternator if they are made Robby Quote
