97loudcut
Seafoam can be used in many ways. it can be added through an intake line, put in the gas tank, or added to the oil. From personal expirences the best way to use it is suck a 1/2 a can through the brake booster (seen below) . Add the other half of the can to either the oil or the gas tank. I prefer the gas tank. When sucked through the brake booster pull off the rubber hose (the engine will want to die, so hold open the throttle but don't gun it) and slowly suck up 1/2 the can of seafoam. After all the liquid is sucked up keep the engine running for about 10 seconds lightly revving it (this will be the smoke fest). After that turn the car off and let it sit for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes it up take the car for a spin until it stops smoking. When it is added to the gas tank make sure the tank has over a 1/2 a tank of gas in it when you add it. Drive the car until it's on "e" and then go fill up. I would suggest changing your oil when it is all done. When added to the oil just pour it in and run it like it's normal oil. I would probably change the oil out after 1500 miles. That is just my opinion though. To clear up a little myth. If your spark plugs HAVE to be changed after you seafomaed the car, odds are they needed to be changed before you seafoamed it. I put new plugs in roughly 5000 miles before I seafomaed my car and my plugs are fine. I still would suggest checking a couple of them though. Also after I seafoamed my car i did change the oil and FYI the oil was still clean. This doesn't mean I don't reccommend changing it, because I do. So thats my expirences. Myabe this can be a FAQ where people can put there ways of doing it and there good and bad times with it, seeing as it's so popular on w-body. Z34-5speed
Just to add something... Make sure you put the seafoam in a bowl or suck it directly out of the can. Don't use a funnel to pour the seafoam in, you could get other shit in there. And at least on my car, when i pulled the vacuum hose, the car revved up to about 2500rpms. It then wanted to die when it started sucking up the seafoam. Kyle

PCGUY112887
I coulden't even get my car to run with the brake booster hose off, I had to stick a funnel in it with a bunch of tape on the end of the funnel withi a tiny hole poked through it so only a tiny bit of air could go through, then it would run and suck the seafoam. slick
Either way will work. The pcv valve will put it right into the crankcase. The brake booster line will put it into the upper plenum. If you do the brake booster method, you will want to hold down the throttle a bit to keep it from dying.

That or get a friend to give it some gas to keep it from stalling.... Seriously, read the can, and search for a thread. I barely have been on lately and it's all about fucking Sea Foam.
