lolumz34
So...I had the delco bose silver series in the car. I ripped that out along time ago and put all after market in it. But I used all most of the wire that was installed to hook everything up. And I left that main bunch of wires that would run to the delco amp just hanging in the trunk. So today while I was installing the 1 gauge power line to the trunk, I decided to cut out the bunch of wires. I mean, I don't use any of them to the back of the car, and they all end there in a harness. So I had the key on, and the radio playing for working tunes. And as soon as I hit that bunch of wires with the cut, deck went out...and that was that. Nothing on ...oops... What happen, anyone know? Please tell me, I have to go to St Thomas on Saturday, and that's a LOONNNNGGGG drive without tunes.
Bolt_Crank
check the inline fuse for your deck, the fuse on the back of the deck (if it has one) and, if you haven't already (smack! j/k ^^) the radio fuse
lolumz34
no...the deck doesn't have a fuse.
Bolt_Crank
hmmm... if the fuses are good, check for a melted power wire.... and let this be a lesson, cut one at a time, or with everything off sorry I ain't much help, but Imma be wicked tired.... anyway, I hope your deck ain't fried
LukeZ34
Yea, I'd suggest the same thing. There's a fuse for the radio in the glove box. From the way it sounds When you cut all the wires, the main power grounded itself and blew the fuse.
supreme_style21
Sure there ain't a fuse in the radio?? All the aftermarket decks I've seen have a fuse somewhere.. sometimes it's been buried deep inside the bastard.
ismellrealbad
when u cut the wire, it touched something on the car, and shorted out. check the acc fuse (should be blue 15a). it has to be blown. if its blown ur still not outta the woods, u coulda fucked up the HU permanently. ive done it before, but not severley. if its not blown, then thats weird. the int lights should not work either if the fuse is blown (the dome when the door is open). if its not blown and theres no fuse on the deck (also weird) then im not sure what the problem is. try testing the head unit in a another car or another head unit in ur car. if ur creatve like me u can test the hu with a computer power source PS: damn 1ga??? thats huge what kinda stuff are you going to be giving power with that? Baddflash
I agree, try to see if anthing else in the car isn't working? If still nothing use a test light or multimeter to ensure you got power at the fuses and at the deck? If you got power than it's your deck and you'll have to try and find the fuse.
