GOT2B GM
I bought and picked up a Birchmount spring that kuntzie had in his TGP today, and spent the latter part of the afternoon installing it. I'm still waiting on my Intrax front springs so its sitting a little funny right now. Here's some pics.

RJansen658
Wow that does look really good... was the birchmount very heavy compared to the fiberglass? Thats gonna look good once the front is down too.... let me know if the rear makes any more noise with the birchmount back there....

I was swaying because of the weight a little bit, but what I really want to know about is ride quality and (most importantly) noise. My W's hardly squeek or knock or anything, and I'd like to keep it that way.
GOT2B GM
The ride is substantially firmer, but I have not noticed any excessive noise in my 20 km maiden voyage. My main deciding factor between coilovers and the birchmount was price. Jeff gave me a real good deal on it.
Regal_Kid_05
How much lower does the rear sit?
intern8tion9l
yeah that is a nice drop. for now you are in a permanent launch stance!
tdaye
I've had both in mine and I can say the ride is WAY better with my FAF #185 spring, and I got the same drop. Your car looks great! shit I love those cars
GOT2B GM
How much lower does the rear sit? about 2.5"
Regal_Kid_05
What's the cost difference between the Birchmount and FAF?
GOT2B GM
Shawn (GnatGoSplat) would be able to tel you that for sure. I *think* the FAF is around 300 and the Birchmount goes for about 180 new.

Regal_Kid_05
Is the FAF worth that much more than the Birchmount?
GOT2B GM
Its lighter, and supposedly is quieter and rides better ( I don't have any first hand experience with the FAF )
Regal_Kid_05
I guess I should ask are you happy with the birchmount?
97loudcut
yeah I was wondering did you notice a diffrence with all that wieght?
GOT2B GM
I haven't noticed any difference from the extra 19lbs of weight. I would say that I'm happy with the spring, it gave me the drop I wanted. It's a fairly stiff ride, but that's to be expected with a lowered car. kuntzie
when i was in my car i loved it, ut then again i odnt really enjoy a soft ride so it made it that much more to my liking.
