southpaw2_4
yea but intrax only sells springs for '97 and newer...will these springs fit in my '95?
GOT2B GM
You can get them here. Better act quick before someelse takes them! http://www.w-body.com/forum/index.php/topic,50487.0.html They are mean't for a 95-99 Monte Carlo. They are the same front springs as our cars. There are already a couple of people interested in those particular springs for sure.
southpaw2_4
so a '95-'99 montecarlo has the same setup as our cars? therefore we can get lowering springs from them? Will i need to replace my struts or can i just get the springs and put them in? I am kind of looking for a complete set because the car will look silly just lowering the front
Guest TurboSedan
only the '95-'99 Monte Carlo front springs will work on your car. for the rear you can get adjustable coilovers (FFP or Held Motorsports) or a lowering leaf spring (FAF or Birchmount). southpaw2_4
so basically our older cars are scrwed. We can't just buy new lowering springs like the 97 and newer cars we have to go with coil overs and stuff?
GOT2B GM
for the front you can buy Intrax or Suspension Techniques (discontinued) for the back you can buy FFP coilovers, Birchmount metal leaf, Flexaform fiberglass leaf, or put a big stereo in your trunk
southpaw2_4
Ohh is intrax the old suspension techniques? Are you talking about leaf springs for the rear?
GOT2B GM
Ohh is intrax the old suspension techniques? Are you talking about leaf springs for the rear? They are different springs all together, Intrax is a progressive rate spring while ST is just a regular spring. Yes, the Birchmount and FAF are leaf springs for the rear, they replace the stock factory fiberglass leaf spring.

intern8tion9l
not leaf springs....leaf SPRING. it still has struts in the back too
DiscoStudd
wow i didn't know my '95 GTP came with leaf springs in the rear not leaf springs....leaf SPRING. it still has struts in the back too Just wanted to add that "Transverse" means that the component is mounted "East-West" (left to right) as opposed to "Longitudinal" ("North-South" or front to back.) Monoleaf means single leaf, so a Transverse Monoleaf literally means a single leaf spring sitting in a left to right configuration. Take a peek underneath the rear of your car and you'll get the picture...
