stockgp
ok, so i finally finished replacing the 60e in ym mom's lumina. background: replacement trans is from a 93 gp. perfect working condition last time car was driven. so, i put some fluid in and took the car for a test drive. i only have 2nd gear. wtf? low fluid wouldn't limit the car only to second gear, right? also, although the transmission is electronic, it should still start in first and shift to third after a certain rpm, yes? i was thinking maybe the wiring changed a bit between 93 and 95 and the trans was engaging 2nd gear start. however, since it wouldn't shift out of 2nd into 3rd, i dismissed that theory, too. so, anyone have any ideas? Brian P
I know the valve bodies between '91-93 and '94-97 are different. I think even the solenoid setup is different too. Either way, it's not interchangeable. Starting in 2nd gear could mean the "A" solenoid is not getting power. Can you get it to 4th gear? I do have the wiring pinouts ID/function I can give you from my '95 Service manual, however you'll need to locate '93 wiring specs somewhere as I don't have any book for that year. This way you can see what's different at least with the inputs to the tranny solenoids. Let me know if you want it.
stockgp
yeah, send it my way. i can get the 93 diagrams. i'll just repin the connectors and i'll be good. hopefully, anyhow and no, only gears it has are reverse and 2nd

Brian P
well, on the '95, pinouts A.b,c,d are outputs from the tranny solenoids to the PCM (grounds). C is for the PWM solenoid which you don't have so that's out. So you'll just have a total of 5 wires in your connector. It looks like "E" is ok. "A" wire (assuming you are modifying the '95 plug) needs to be moved to F. B wire needs to go to position G. D is ok. I don't know what you need to do with the switches, I would guess keep them disconnected as that was for the old style PCM. '95 TCC solenoid shares power feed INSIDE the tranny with he other solenoids, not separate like in '93. Therefore you need to install a wire into "A" and SPLICE this into "E". ; B and C will be empty since those switches are not used.
