i have seen dohc verts with a rear bench in the 93 -94 years not common though,the rear buckets where put in so that the 3.4 would meet the breakind distance the gov. had set up .with the lbs of 5 people the cars did not stop in time, but with 4 they could.

interesting! the thought had occurred to me of just the opposite.... that they reduced the number of seat to foce the car to be lighter and more responsive in acceleration.

 

any chance those 93-94 cars were originally buckets?

not after talking to the owners of the cars, older people the did not seem to be the ones to change there cars .That info was given to me by former c&c people that had worked on the cutlass convertibles and the 88 ,90 indy pace cars
