RJansen658 Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 Engine is out, cradle is down, struts are off and fenders are off, working on getting a new fender and waiting for the radiator core support.... Quote

black_97_ls Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 sweet. Good luck on the project man. Quote
chadz34 Posted September 29, 2006 Report Posted September 29, 2006 The same thing will happen to mine when the DOHC dies. Hopefully. Quote
RJansen658 Posted September 30, 2006 Author Report Posted September 30, 2006 Update: I ordered the new radiator core support, direct from GM it cost $120 shipped, hopefully will be here by the end of the week. I also located a brand new GM front right fender, but it is $300!!! I have collected probably have of the fasteners/clips/bolts for the front clip all from original GM suppliers. A good piece of advice.... DO NOT TRUST THE GM PARTS CATALOG.... according to my parts guy, GM revised all of the w-body IPC's and generalized the bolts..... it was a nightmare and I'm only half way there, plus even bolts that the car only needs 1 or 2 of I had to buy boxes of 50..... I have $200 in bolts lol. I bought new headlight access covers, and a right lower splash shield. I bought new front brake hose brackets and am looking for a source for stainless steel hoses and lines. I bought new fender support braces, the ones under the hood bolted diagonal in the front corners. Thats all I've gotten recently, I will update the pics this weekend.... Quote
J Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 cool after you get that down pat we can do mine! Where did you source the engine/trans? **** oh for the fender go to shermans Quote
RJansen658 Posted October 3, 2006 Author Report Posted October 3, 2006 Used http://www.car-part.com.... its great for just about any part you can't find.... I wasn't too concerned with mileage as I plan on rebuilding the engine before I put it in.... so I have plenty of time to worry about upgrades right now, and gather parts, prep for paint, rustproof, etc. Right now in my area theres about 10 L67's for sale...all from 98+ cars with the M90 and all less than $800.... Quote
RJansen658 Posted October 4, 2006 Author Report Posted October 4, 2006 yes without the trans.... meaning I still need a 4T65-E HD, 98 GTP PCM, and a 98 Monte L36 engine harness.... I know I know Quote
jeremy Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 like jay said, get everything down pat so you can start charging the michigan members to swap one in for them... Quote
Euro Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 dang you're kickin along!!!! keep up the good progress Quote

Singh Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 an l67 out of a buick park ave would work with first gen wide bodies, like a grand prix? Quote
RJansen658 Posted October 4, 2006 Author Report Posted October 4, 2006 I don't know to be honest... I'm sure the block is the same, but the mounts may be different, I do not know. I was told best candidate is a 98+ GTP Motor, Trans and ECM for ANY first gen. The swap is pretty much the same for all first gens mechanically speaking. Quote
Singh Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 right ok thanks for info, didnt want to steal this topic Quote
LumiDriver Posted October 8, 2006 Report Posted October 8, 2006 Looks like it's gonna be a tought road to take! I plan on doing this to my lumina. Either that, or see if I coudl fit a 3800 Series II SC in there..so I can make it completely interceptor Quote
RJansen658 Posted October 8, 2006 Author Report Posted October 8, 2006 FYI L67 = 3800 Series II SC Motor Quote
