one_fast_prix
this is on my 3.1. i took my plenum, tb, egr off to swap out injectors. now the car idles extremely fast. we're talking like 4 grand. no vac. leaks. the plenum's sealed good. swapped chips. WTF??? don't think it's tps or iac as it was fine before.
GP1138
Do an idle relearn. Search the FAQ section.
GOT2B GM
Double check everything is plugged in (electrical and vacuum)....maybe your PCV hose came off under the plenum?
one_fast_prix
i can't do the idle relearn because of the high revs. the car takes off on me with the brake fully depressed.
one_fast_prix
everything is hooked up/connected. would the pcv cause the rpms to go up that high? it is connected both under the plenum and on the filter. however the hose on the pcv is a little crooked, but no leaks. had a bitch to get that thing back on for some reason. i couldn't reattach the hose from under the plenum so i had to connect it there first and then shove the hose down through the LIM. one_fast_prix
i didn't think you could place them in wrong because of the clips? let me know and i'll take everything back off if there is a way i put them in wrong. just want to be sure. one_fast_prix
also when i first installed the 30's and had the plenum and everything off. the idle was very high but more like 3000 instead of 4000 and when i put it in gear it would drop and be fine untill i put it back in park or even neutral. but now after i took it off again earlier today and replaced some lines, that's when it went to like 4 grand and putting it gear did nothing but stay the same and take off on me while having the brake fully depressed. BXX
Just sounds like your IAC is stuck open... Pull it off and check the pintle position
slick
Grab a vacuum guage and check that out.
1990lumina
and I personally wouldn't be touching the tranny if it's shooting to 4k rpm
one_fast_prix
the iac pintles are good also. someone had mentioned about placing your thumb over a hole when the tb is exposed from the intake, however all i see is an slit opening inside the tb? also just sprayed around everything. no leaks. if it does it while in gear how could it be the iac? one_fast_prix
FUCK!!! now i just also changed the iac and tps for shits and giggles and NOW the car goes to 5000 rpms on startup. i can't take the car anywhere as it is. i don't know what to do with it. GutlessSupreme
99% sure it's a vacuum leak, whether it be an unseated injector, as mentioned, or maybe a damaged gasket or something. Even if the injectors were dumping fuel in there, it wouldn't be reving like that with no leaks and the TB closed.
one_fast_prix
now the update: earlier i took everything back apart just for shits and giggles. either that or it would've just sit. well again everything was fine, o-rings, injectors seated properly. however the only thing i noticed was the pvc hose end where it actually connects to the pcv was connected, but slightly crooked. put everyting back together and walla. Â NEW PROB: now the car ran rough for a litttle while and eventually leveled off which is expected, but it' still is around 1500.
1990lumina
so it won't level off below 1500?? even when it warms up??
one_fast_prix
right.
