New toy and where can I get replacement factory HU buttons?

I won a new toy here:

I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but it was relatively cheap considering what it is, and I love playing with this kind of stuff. I'm planning to see how well it works with an iPod2Car device and if I like it, I might modify the convertible to make this fit. Either that or I might end up flipping it. Last time I saw one on eBay, it went for $450.

The key benefit of this HU is it's the only Delco navi radio that has NO anti-theft features whatsoever... no Theftlock, no proprietary Class 2 interface, it has all standard connections and signals. It's found only in the Pontiac Vibe and Toyota Matrix, nothing else, so it's kind of rare.

Anyone know where I can get some replacement buttons for it? I know some people have mentioned Delco radio repair places in the past, but I didn't bother to commit any of that info to memory.

no proprietary Class 2 interface

I thought that's what the smaller harness/plug on the left was for. Both my Chevy's have the same "main" harness/plug, but the Impala with it's Class 2 "convenience setting" had the extra plug both in the car and on the radio. I left the plug disconnected with the aftermarket HU, so I assumed that's what it was for seeing as my other car doesn't have the "convenience setting" radio, nor the smaller harness in the car.

Maybe it still has the Class 2 "convenience setting" interface, but without the need to communicate with the BCM to verify it's in the right car  .

Either way good find, and for that price I'd definitely "take the plunge" and see if I could get it to work. :thumb: BTW, do you know if the Matrix/Vibe HU is XM-Ready?

Nope. There's no Class 2 wire on the Vibe/Matrix HU at all. The smaller plug just has Aux inputs (for optional CD changer), reverse input, and VSS input. I have no idea if it's XM-Ready or not, there's not really much information out there on this one seeing as it's kind of rare. I found no reference to XM with this radio though.

I also got another toy to play with earlier in the week. I already have 1 and liked it enough to jump on a deal for a 2nd one. I thought it was a good deal considering all the extras.

Only thing I'm not happy with is it's missing all the power harnesses and the idiot seller claims they're not needed and quit replying to me when I insisted they are. $100 worth of proprietary wire harnesses missing. Dumbass. I guess he thinks they run on love and fairy dust.

Damn I love those Pioneers.

x2!

I didn't even know that Vibe's/Matrix's had the option of a Navigation system!!!!

Looks like a cool project. I didn't know that there was a unit that didn't use Class 2. Gets me thinking...

On these forums, there's a member named machomachodan that seems to have done lots of tinkering/programming with GM's nav radios. You might be able to get some info from him/the forums.

From reading through posts, I believe his Email is machomachodan@yahoo.com.
