mdelorie
So, after installing new FFP coilovers and GMPP trailing arms, my rear suspension still clunks going over bumps (not the groaning that some FFP coilover owners report, it was doing this before the coilovers). I haven't checked it off the ground yet, but I'm suspecting its my rear wheel bearings. How exactly should I go about checking for play, and how much is acceptable? The bearings don't make any significant amount of noise when you spin the wheel, but if you kick the tire with the car on the ground it seems to shudder back and forth more than it should. Would the brakes interfere with checking the bearing play?; by holding the hub closer to the knuckle? Thanks as always
jdcutty
Just jack the tire up and and check for play in the wheel. There shouldn't be any play really. And the brakes shouldn't interfere with testing this.
