Rear Brakes

Hello all

I am new here. I have a 96 Cutlass Supreme. I am having trouble with the brakes the ABS light and the brake light are on steady. I tried to bleed them but am having no luck. The front bleed fine but when I open the valve on the right rear and the left rear, no matter how hard i press the brake pedal will not go down and no fluid comes out. I thought maybe the lines were clogged so i pulled the line off the pump and connected a clear hose dto the end of it stuck the other end into a bottle of fluid. I then connected a vacum bleeder to the right caliper valve and the fluid came throught fine. but when I try to bleed it with the lines connected to the pump it wont do anything. I have the system with the hose that run to the intake.

Also I am having a problem with the tranny. The person i got it from had the tranny replaced but who ever did it put a different tranny in it. Originally the car shifter would go (D321) with a circle around the D for over drive. The tranny the put in it only shifts down 2 gears after Drive. But while driving I can feel the car go through 4 gears. The car drive and shifts fine un til I hit 70 and the TACH is between 2 and 3 grand it lunges constantly. If put my foot on the brake a little while keeping the speed the lunging stops. other than that the car drives and shifts fine. Any help be greatly appreciated.

sounds like you will need to replace the abs and master cylinder unit, clear and simple. it would be about $50 from a yard.

as for the tranny, it may not be wrong, just having an issue... look under the car at the tranny pan and see what it says. first off....

the lunging apparently has to do with the lock-up on the Torque converter. applying the brake relases the lock-up
