94CutlassXtreme
I noticed the headunit is a Delco unit in my GTP, could I install my Pioneer out of the Cutlass and have it work OK with the Bose speakers?
19Cutlass94
Youll need the adapter ( harness ) for that HU for that car. Other than the dash kit. those two things and youll have no problem.
94CutlassSLCoupe
do you have a HU with a wired remote input so you can keep the steering wheel radio controls?
Cam'ron
If you want the steering wheel controls... isnt the stock radio removal a bigger issue because of hte RKE and shit that is in the facotry radios
19Cutlass94
No, if you search for it you can find a device that will let you keep your steering wheel controls with an after market HU. I dont know exactly what it is, as Ive never had to deal with it.
Cam'ron
yeah so it is that... whatever it is called, the harness adapter and an install kit and you should be good... unless you just mount your stock HU in the trunk or somewhere
BCM
http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_prix/products1.php?id=294 That should let you be able to use your steering wheel controls with that h/u

I believe that type of programming didn't hit the W cars, but N bodies and the like.
GP1138
I don't think RKE and security system shit was moved into the HU until the '04 GP's.
DiscoStudd
I don't think RKE and security system shit was moved into the HU until the '04 GP's. The only Pre-04 W's that used the headunit to change the "convenience" settings were the 00-up Monte and Impala. Even if your car had that type of headunit, all you'd need to do is set everything where you wanted it before removing the HU (then install an aftermarket chime module because you'd lose the chime function after removing the stock HU.) I did exactly that in my Impala, and everything still functions normally. Here's a module that's plug-n-play with the GM steering wheel controls and Pioneer HU's: http://cgi.ebay.com/PAC-SWI-PS-Pioneer-Steering-Wheel-Remote-AVIC-N2-N3-D2_W0QQitemZ190030241670QQihZ009QQcategoryZ60208QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem  http://search.ebay.com/SWI-PS_W0QQfromZR40QQsatitleZSWIQ2dPS
fastbird232
Wait... the same adapter from the '95 GTP works just fine in my '00 Grand Am. Why wouldn't the one from his '94 Cutty work in a '00 GTP?
terryk2003
FWIW: you will lose your radio station display in your HUD if you switch to the aftermarket HU
19Cutlass94
Thats not big deal. I dont have a HUD but still I cant imagine that being a huge problem.
sl3196
Youll need the adapter ( harness ) for that HU for that car. Other than the dash kit. those two things and youll have no problem. Won't work. You'll either need to wire around the bose or some guys on clubgp splice rca cables in somehow to keep the bose. Personally I think the bose sucks ass so I wired around it.
