GnatGoSplat
I have some 95+ front knuckles I'm thinking to put into my Cutlass. The balljoint boots are torn because the person that pulled the knuckles off used a picklefork. The balljoints themselves are tight and have no play. I hate to waste perfectly good balljoints just because the boots are torn. Does anyone happen to know if there's some source somewhere for replacement balljoint boots? I'm thinking I'll have to replace the entire balljoints anyway, but just thought I'd try one last ditch effort for boots before I drop $120 on new balljoints. PJB
Auto parts stores sell them in the Help! section. I saw some at Advance yesterday.
GnatGoSplat
You definitely saw them for W-body though? I've seen them for other cars, but not W-body.
PJB
I think that most are the same, but check the book they have in the parts store.
GnatGoSplat
I don't think balljoint boots are universal, but I'll check this weekend. Thanks for the tip.
GnatGoSplat
Ok, I went to Pep Boys this weekend to look at their vast Motormite parts collection. No balljoint boots. Several tierod boots though. I even checked their big fat catalog. No balljoint boots. Oh well, guess I'm dropping $120 for a pair of balljoints just because of a couple of torn boots.
