harrydunn Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 1996 Cutlass Supreme 3.1L 92,000 miles. I'm experiencing a shudder while in overdrive expecially when climbing steady hills when the tranny won't kick down to drive. I've read several times that this is a torque converter issue. I've heard of some valve body fixes. It is not extremely noticeable yet. My dealer of course couldn't replicate the problem when they drove the car. It is still under warranty so I figured I'd give them a chance. The car is in great shape and I plan to drive it many more thousands of miles and would love to get this fixed. Thanks. Quote
NitroDave Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 That's how my problem started and continued to get worse until every gear was doing it. I have a 90 TGP though so I don't know if it's the same. On a more negative note, after 1786.00 dollars the problem was fixed. (Complete rebuild) Quote
luminator94 Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Same thing happened on my 97 Cutty coupe exactly as you explained. That's when I finally got pissed off at the car and got rid of the thing. I was really dissapointed with my Cutty. :cuss: Aaron Quote
