fargo_182 Posted September 4, 2006 Report Posted September 4, 2006 93 GTP 3.4 pos craptastic wanna blow you up car!!!!!!!! Dear god someone help me.... Changed the thermostat, water pump thinking they were the cause of the engine running hot. it ran normally over half WITH the heater on full blast. Anyways....changed the waterpump just now and tried to refill it using th enormal procedure but fluid would not come out of the air valves while it was running or sitting. My Z34 does when I do this. I tried to drive it down the road and it shot up to the red 125 in a matter of 2 min and that was the end, parked it and am real pissed! How do I check for blockages? or what else can it be? Quote
fargo_182 Posted September 4, 2006 Author Report Posted September 4, 2006 it did the exact samething with the thermostat that was in it, which was new too last time it didnt get over half until I drove it for 15 min. It's gotta have a blockage Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Try running it with NO thermostat. That will resolve that issue quick enough... Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 What about the CTS (Coolant Temp Sensor)? I'm not sure where the LQ1's is, but I'd assume its somewhere near the thermostat. Are your radiator fans working? Quote
jdcutty Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 This sort of thing happened on my 93 3100. Couldn't seem to ever bleed the air out of the system. Turns out it was a bad head gasket that was pushing air from the compression chamber into the coolant system. Hope this isn't the case with yours. Quote
BIGBULS Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Lets start with the easy stuff before we call doom and gloom........... 1) Check to see if your radiator cap is tight. 2) If it is, pull the bitch off and have somebody pressure test it. THEN we can worry about the other craziness. But, I think you might have a blockage..............when was your last coolant flush/exchange? Quote
