BuickMan
I can't get a break with this Cutlass. I have to pass the California smog test so I bought a shiny new PCV valve. Since I never replaced it I found out its in the back and I can't see it! Can it be accessed from the bottom? Will I have to do the 'ole engine rock again?? ARGH! Guest TurboSedan
some people like to rock the engine forward and some like to just remove the alternator. i prefer removing the alternator. if you have skinny arms you can probably do it without removing anything. if you are also replacing the PCV 'S' hose you'll have to remove the plenum. Brian P
sorry man, not as easy as it should be. More than likely the PCV hose is original and will rip.
Robby1870
sorry man, not as easy as it should be. More than likely the PCV hose is original and will rip. Or be so hard you'll have to cut it off.
RJansen658
If the pcv hose is hard.... use a blow torch or a cigarette lighter to heat the hose but not burn it. I have done it with a cigarette lighter a lot of times, and it works perfectly. I always rock the engine forward, but you CAN do it without moving anything, but you'll cut up your wrists doing it. Good luck with the emissions test by the way...
