LG5 Swap...

Was there a write-up done on swapping a LG5 into a car, I've been searching for days.

 

If not what all do I need, I already have the Engine, Intercooler and Piping, Fuel Pump, Computer, New Motor mounts. What else should I get before I begin?

Basically everything, engine, turbo, intercooler and piping, radiator, motor mounts, computer, wiring harness , transmission, axles..... and for free (Grandfather bought it new in 1990 and last month was rearended with 43456.6/7 miles..., I asked for the motor and he said take anything I need off the car :willynilly: <-- anyone with a free low mile GTP parts car on their hands knows this feeling, a week later I'm done, I finished tonight but I'll have the car for 2 more days. :mrgreen:)

 

I win basically, there is nothing left in the engine compartment, i took everything... not sure how much i'll use but i'll have parts for spares when mine goes...

i'm confused. awhile back you're talking about building some crazy high HP 3.1 turbo engine with like $8000 heads you already have. what happened to that? then in your speeding ticket thread just a few days ago you say something about ordering a 47,000 mile TGP engine with your next paycheck. what happened there? now suddenly it turns out your grandpa just happened to wreck his 43,000 mile TGP last month and you got the drivetrain for free. or does he have a GTP?

I have 5 cars (not counting the parts car)... 4 of which are w-bodys. This LG5 will be in my 91 SE, the other in the 90 STE, the 500 hp one in the LE, and leaving the other one stock with the 3.4.

I did, then bought this one, thats why I pulled so many parts off it before the old one went to the scrap yard and to clarify I didn't wreck it my bitch of a ex-fiance wrecked it because "I payed more attention to my cars then her" as a found out last week.

Aside from the STE, if its a turbo, they are all worth shit compared to a TGP, even one thats been fixed BTW. Sorry, 500 HP LE :rolleyes: is still going to get more eye rolls and laughs than a rare TGP, which very few people even know exist, why not put this "500 HP" engine in a TGP? Atleast its a special car and not a junker...
