Stevo Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 Ok heres the sleuthing... My 93' Cutlass has Console Shift. Steering Wheel Radio and Climate Controls. My horn does'nt work because the fuse always blows. Turning the steering wheel makes some kind of inner column scraping sound. Some times depending on how I push against the steering wheel the horn beeps (when the fuse is active) or the climate controls activate. Now what should I be doing? I can see the obvious route but sometimes the obvious route is the long way around and someone has already had this problem and easily solved it. (ex. curious oil leak turns out to be oil pump drive on LQ1). Quote

Crazy K Posted August 26, 2006 Report Posted August 26, 2006 same problem on my car.... sort of... My car phantom honks . i also get the grinding noise when i turn the wheel. i will fix that sometime soon, all it needs is fresh lubriplate(best grease) or dielctric grease on the horn ring. Do this: try taking your swrc and horn button off. requires removing two 7mm bolts. you will see the red or ornage single wire that is for the horn, which has a seperate connector. from the swrc. use a jumper wire/paper clip/etc to jump between the horn wire contact and the sterring wheel frame (ground), Does that blow a fuse? or does you horn just honk like normal? find that out and then post your responce.
