Psych0matt
calipers, you mean?
Mach 5
I haven't painted mine yet but when I do, Im going to use Duplicolor Caliper paint. First, I would try to take all the rust off be either sand blasting them, or using a dremel to take it off. You could even use a bench grinder that has a deburring/cleaning wheel on it. Euro
duplicolor makes a kit that you can buy at like Mejier or autozone or some place like that. has everything you need IIRC
Mach 5
I think its like 20-25 dollars for it.
firefighter_0029
A friend of mine used the kit and it started peeling off after awhile. I used Brake Cleaner to clean the Caliper real good and then used High Heat Engine Paint the paint stayed on even through the winter with no problems. Mach 5
Do you think the heat paint works better or equal to the actual caliper paint?
ToroToro
Well, I'd say better, but that is only because it is the only thing I've used, and it holds up for years. Much cheaper and quicker than that Duplicolor crap too.
intern8tion9l
i wire brushed mine off, then took some 1000*F or whatever engine enamal, sprayed it into the cap until it puddled up, and painted it on with one of those cheesy $.50 brushes from wal-mart. the whole project cost me like $4. i throw a new coat on once a year or so
terryk2003
haha...i still loove all the people that recommend that caliper paint..i tried it on my cutlass and wasnt impressed @ all...a waste of money and it wasnt very shiney @ all...when i did the calipers on the GTP, i sprayed them down with brake cleaner...then 2 coats of high temp primer, 3 coats of Dupli-Color (body color touch up paint), then 3 coats high temp clear...the end result was this:
GnatGoSplat
I wire brushed the calipers clean, masked everything off with newspapers and masking tape, then sprayed them with the cheapest red engine paint I could find at Wal-Mart. It has held up really well over 3yrs. Looks and feels really smooth. It was maybe $2-3 for a large sized can.

PCGUY112887
I used the red duplicolor kit and to be honest, it turned out better lookin thank yours terryk2003. Mine is dirty and it has faded a bit but isn't chipping at all. Hell when I pulled a pad off to get to a rotor to check something out I had to pry becuase the ceramic or whatever is in the paint held it on so tight (I painted the pad backs too obviouselly) that it didn't want to come off, and that was with only 2-3 coats.
