mauijim
hi folks! i have a 92 cutlass supreme that came with a basic digital speedo/instrument group. no tach, just a heat light, really no 'gauges'. it's been working intermittently for the last few months, blinking and whatnot. i had been watching ebay lately for a new one, and when i logged onto it a while ago, i see one that had one minute left on the auction. i quickly glanced at it just long enough to see "perfectly working unit", and bid on it. well, i got the high bid. then i looked more closely at the description and saw where the seller said "if you dont have the tach option from the factory, this one wont work for you". i wonder what i'd need to do to my car to make this cluster work for me. i'd really like to, as it has an actual thermometer instead of just a 'heat' light, in addition to just looking alot cooler sorry for the length. any help would be greatly appreciated! Supreme Cutlass
Search for UB3, that's what you want. And try looking on the "upgrade" page on http://www.w-body.com (not the forum)
Psych0matt
sorry I came off as an ass before, I over reacted a bit, but stick around, you'll understand anyways, welcome! (and don't mind me, I'm usually nice!)
mauijim
man, i tried to just remove the post after i discovered my error, but i couldnt. dont really understand the logic behind that. another thing i dont quite get is this: seems to me that when a guy's looking for answers to a problem, the person who knows the answer might only read, say, the powertrain directory. if the guy asks his question in just, say, appearance discussion or general discussion, the 'expert' would never see his question, right? anyway, that was my train of thought when i posted the question in a couple of different places. trying to increase the likelihood of finding someone who'd happen to know the answer. Supreme Cutlass
The idea is that you can see all the new posts when you log in so all of the posts are seen, and if you know alot about powertrain, you'll check powertrain more, etc. If everyone disregarded the sections, you'd have a jumbled mess of things, and some questions might go unnoticed.
