Coolant not coming out of reservoir

Every so often, my the coolant light comes on, but there's still plenty in the reservoir. Why isn't it taking any out? Or is this a sensor issue?

try removing the sensor on the passenger side of the radiator, near the filler neck, and clean out the crud (if there is any) on the sensor. More times than not it will solve the issue, also just make sure that the radiator is indeed full of coolant, that can cause it also.

Next time you flush your radiator, use distilled water. This will prevent any calcium buildup that might cause a problem like this. And will prevent calcium buildup in the block.

also make sure that there is no air in your coolant. air pockets can form and create hot spots.
