hey guys i have been looking at this electric supercharger that runs 1 psi not a lot of power but not a bad price.what do you guys think of it??its called a e-ram.i kinda like it seems basic and just a simple bolton that takes no time to put on.plus you get that little bit of boost.

prolly get better boost from the hair dryer as it isnt a parasidic draw on the engine/electrical system

Yeah they work! They work just as good as those bumper stickers that can add another 20hp to your ricer.

Shit, didn't we just have a thread like this a few days ago?

Anyway, yeah, get it. It won't make you go any faster, but it will teach you a lesson.

so what about the intake tornado thingy?

I thought that thing was proved to be complete bullshit?? though ur right because I still see ads for that thing on TV sometimes

that will work. My friend owns one of them and he did notice a difference. Its even dyno proven. The difference isn't too great but he noticed it more in the fuel economy. Id give it a try.

yeah i read somewhere that the tornado's help with only mileage albeit very little but there is an improvement, but the HP claims are total BS

It does work but only maybe at around about 3000 rpm. But as far as economy, you will see it in the numbers.

Posted

i see it advertised on tv when the saturday/sunday morning's car shows are on

i've heard its complete BS all around

basically it is but it has proven to improve mileage marginally... i am looking for the site i read right now

Well, I remember the '90s infomercials for the Tornado that actually showed cars being dyno tested with them...they got something like 15HP on a '96 Impala SS or something.

Obviously they faked them, because I dont hear them make those claims anymore.

Even if they did make a difference, which I doubt they do, it wouldn't be worth the money. The price on them things is ridiculous.

The superchargers are even more of a joke.

actually the eram electronic SC's are pretty cool, i think a guy with a built up 3.4 lumina has one.

The price you pay for them isn't worth it with the performance you get. I won't say anymore till I here a review.

Yeah, Tim's right. Sonyman87??? I think is the number, but I know it's Sonyman, anyways, he said he tested his on a 1/4 mile run, and when the e-Ram was on, he'd shave off .3 seconds... Although he did something to his, or wired it up differently, or something along those lines... And his 3.4L wasn't stock AFAIK, he had a few mods...

Regardless of what anyone says, the e-ram and tornado are both bullshit. The Tornado has been dyno proven to DECREASE performance, not add it. I'll try to find that thread. It's old. The e-ram is a hunk of shit, period. That thing does not, and can not flow enough air to keep up with an LQ1. 1/4 runs aren't exactly the same every time, and one or two runs are not enough "control" for the experiment.

Tornado (or whatever the fuck it is called), how would this work. It is supposed to spin the air traveling down the INTAKE TUBE which it does but it also causes a turbulance by it being in the way, this makes it worthless in my eyes. If you really want one that works take off your heads and install something to make the air spin in a circular motion once it is in the combustion chamber or cylender. This would make a difference in numbers both ways but with a giant chunck of alluminum in the way of your intake charge I doubt you would see any increases. Electric superchargers  sounds like a joke.

Hope this helps

Just use a leaf blower motor. That's actually dyno proven. 11whp on a stock Civic SI and like 15whp on a stock S10 4.3 Vortec.
