sl3196 Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 I decided to try duplicolor's anodized paint. Came out pretty good I think! (yes my engine is dirty lol) Before: (like years before, dont take many engine shots) After: Quote
Cam'ron Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 i was going back and forth between the first 2 pics trying to see what was different... then the 3rd loaded, looks good man, i was gonna do that with mine but i am gonna wait till winter and the car is parked Quote
sl3196 Posted August 13, 2006 Author Report Posted August 13, 2006 I think I'll do the motor mounts tommorow. Quote

ToroToro Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 Pretty damn close to the redfire metallic actually... I like it. Quote
terryk2003 Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 waaayy to much redfire under there for me...i like how the black breaks it up!...oh well, @ least our cars are gonna be a little different!...lol Quote
runt Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 Where'd you get that paint at? Cuz it looks good to me! Quote
sl3196 Posted August 13, 2006 Author Report Posted August 13, 2006 Where'd you get that paint at? Cuz it looks good to me! Wal mart. Also I cleaned and sanded it with 1000grit first. Then used duplicolor's base metalic coat. Then put on the red anodized stuff. Quote
logikf1ve Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 I dunno, I liked the black. The paint you used also isn't a close enough match for me. It would drive me nuts. Nice paint work though Quote
sl3196 Posted August 14, 2006 Author Report Posted August 14, 2006 Ya I wasn't trying to match it or I would have used redfire lol. Quote
5speedz34 Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 I like the black too, it offset the red. My buddy did the same on his '97 but car his powdercoated silver(his car is red). Actually powdercoating is pretty cheap. <-----still loves your intake Personally, that intake sucks. My same friend with the '97 bought it from ZZP and spent something like $250 on it w/the filter. Although it looks cool, it just sucks imo, because if you remove it, it's hard to get everything to go back together. Also, the intake hose is just dryer duct. Very cheap materials. He's now replaced it with 4" Mandrel bent FWI. Quote
terryk2003 Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 <-----still loves your intake <--------has the same intake Quote
5speedz34 Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 <-----still loves your intake <--------has the same intake And you guys don't mind the dryer duct with the spring in it for intake hose? Quote
z34_nut Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 apperently not. Looks good dan. I've used that same product before. Works really good on polished metal. Quote
sl3196 Posted August 17, 2006 Author Report Posted August 17, 2006 <-----still loves your intake <--------has the same intake And you guys don't mind the dryer duct with the spring in it for intake hose? The who with the what? Quote
5speedz34 Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 <-----still loves your intake <--------has the same intake And you guys don't mind the dryer duct with the spring in it for intake hose? The who with the what? The hose that runs from the cone to the TB, the one that is wrapped with the foil like anit-heat thingy. Quote
terryk2003 Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 <-----still loves your intake <--------has the same intake And you guys don't mind the dryer duct with the spring in it for intake hose? i wasnt too impressed with that part of it...but, its clamped tight and the heat-wrap covers it up anywayz...so, fuck it!...
