Tomorrow I'm moving the battery to the trunk.

I will be using about 17 feet of high quality 4 gauge Stereo wire from the hood to the truck.

To a Optima Yellow top deepcycle d34/78-950

CA870

CCA650

AH55

RC120

Not sure that they are...but I hope it's enuf.

Then 2 feet of the same 4 gauge to a ground.

I am mounting it in the spare tire hold

Is there anything that I should get...

Anything that I should remember

Anything that I should watch for.

And most of all...is what I have sufficent.

Please let me know.

Thank You

Hey man! Glad to see the Optima you bought off of me is finally going to good use!:)

You seem to have everything down pat as far as I am concerned...

Will this be your primary battery? Or is it just for the stereo etc...?

I'd use some 2 or even 0 gauge welders wire so that there's less resistance and that you won't decrease the life of the alternator. I was told stereo wire was NOT the way to go.

I got mine from grainger supply company. The welders wire you can get at almost all construction supply stores. They do make relocation kits for batteries. Go to just about any performance shop and ask for a relocation kit for the battery or ask mainly for the wire you want. :) :) :)

Any welders supply shop will have it, and around here most farm supply stores have it also. The most expensive I have found 2 guage welding wire for is about $1.99/foot.

Even if it is the highest quality (and most expensive) 4 guage stereo wire, 2 guage anything will still be better. The starter draws 500+ amps through it when starting and having the wire catch on fire is the last thing you want.
