BCM
My car has been leaking oil for quite some time now, and I've been trying to figure out where it's coming from, but I haven't had any luck. I have checked the plug and filter, they're both tight. Anyone have any idea where it could possibly coming from, or what's causing it? btw, it leaks around the center of the engine bay slightly closer to the passenger side. digitaloutsider
Valve covers most likely.
95oldsVan
Valve covers as mentioned or possible intake manifold leak...very common too. Theres also a dye you can buy that you add to the oil and then you go buy/use a black light bulb for it.Drive the car a day then use the blacklight to look around the engine. The the dye will leak out with the oil and using a blacklight, will glow a neon color and show you where the leak is coming from.I had a small leak that was very hard to find and I bought the black light dye for the oil and found it coming from a distributor gasket on an older car I had.Its really helpful for tracking down those hard to find leaks. Mach 5
Id try that. Thats actually what most shops will use to track an oil leak.
