94CutlassXtreme
So it's got a new crank sensor now. Still would crank and not start. I am betting on a bad junkyard ECM. I had it programmed but was told even a bad ECM would take a program. So basically, I have pressure to the rails, I have spark, but no injector pulse. I took apart the top end to do a resistance test on each injector. They were all between 12.5 and 12.7 ohms. With the key on, I have power to the hot side of the injector, and if I provide the ground with my test light the injector kicks on and starts spraying fuel. Also, when I turn the key on, the ECM is supposed to do a sensor check, and even with 75% of the critical sensors unplugged, the engine light will not come on. I was also told by the people who did the computer that the miss that I had before all this happened would be caused by a failing ECM. So as of now, I need to reassemble the top end, get a NEW ECM, and try getting it to turn over. If it doesnt then I might have to junk the car. Brian P
out of curiosity, will the car run for a few seconds if you spray starter fluid down the intake?
intern8tion9l
theres a lot you can do other than junking it

intern8tion9l
yeah you're lucky that 100 shot of nos didn't blow the welds on the intake

jeremy
seriously though..... you might have gotten a bad one from the j/y, but even if it is something a little more then that I can't imagine junking it over something so small
94CutlassXtreme
Dooood, I checked the welds on the intake are OK. I'm betting its the computer too. SO let's all hope. And serioulsly, what else can I do with a non running 3100 car that is worth like 1400 dollars?? I've spent more than that on it since the begining of the summer. I dont have the cash or recources to do an L67 swap, and I dont have the room to store the car. So tomorrow, I need to put the top end back together, and get a computer. I'm praying it'll fire up. I really dont want to get rid of the car. The thought of all my hard work rotting away in the yard makes me want to vomit. I am waaaay to attatched to the car. intern8tion9l
if you are attached to it and plan on keeping it, then money shouldn't be the dtermining factor. i've dumped a totally unnecessary amount of money into mine, but i justify it with the plans to keep it. even if yours has to sit awhile until you can do a sweet motor swap, the price will still be less than getting rid of it and buying something new altogether
SigEpCutlass
Get a new ECM...it's not that huge of a task in comparison to what you've done already man.
19Cutlass94
Just look at my car for example, Ive put about 2 grand into since feb. and it hasnt changed! Dont let something so simple like this get you down. It can be fixed and its fairly cheap. ( unlike mine )
94CutlassXtreme
I guess you guys are right. But today, I was going to work on it, but couldnt get in the car! I locked the doors, and when I hit the disarm on my keypad, the alarm shutoff, but the locks wouldnt unlock. I think it has something to do with the ECM, cuz with it unplugged, I cant disarm the alarm, so even more evidence that its FAACKED! So on my driver side, I have a busted door handle and a good lock cylinder, and on my passenger side, a good handle and busted lock cylinder. So basically, looks like I'm either slim jimming the door, or busting down my back seat and entering via the trunk. Monday and tuesday are my two days off, so hopefully I get it sorted out then. intern8tion9l
experience has shown me that the door unlock button is fairly easy to push with a straightened out coat hanger
