BrianG
When the timing chain blew, apparently I ended up with my heads being fucked as well. I'm desperately looking for a new (or good used) set of 3.1MPFI heads, or all the valves, pushrods, valve guides, etc, and/or a machine shop near the Chicago area that would recondition/rebuild my heads for cheap. Does anyone have ANYTHING!??!
bigshynepo
 Wow, I don't want to be the one to say it but unless your car is valuable to you sentimentally or otherwise, it may be time for a new GP. Getting hit with a timing assembly/belt replacement and then have to replace all those engine pieces would either turn this car into a project car or a Sold car for me. IMO of course I'll wish you, and your wallet, the best of luck as I just finished a manifold gasket change, timing assembly replacement and am now looking at a full tranny rebuild so I can feel your pain. Regal_GS_1989
I would just try and find a good runnig 3.1 and throw that in there. I mean, you already got the engine out, so it would be less work, and probably cost the same, or end up being cheaper than fixing that one. It must have been caused by the FRAM Oil filter
Crazy K
used engine time. heads from yard for $50 each otherwise, perhaps.
slick
IF I were you, I'd go ahead and do a 3400 swap. You can pick them up for less than $500.
Mach 5
Just get the heads machined. They will clean them as well. Or you could go here: http://www.engine-parts.com/GMV6/gmv6heads.html They have tons of performance and OEM parts just for the 2.8 and the 3.1. I would check it out. They also have an OEM timing chain for $50. For gaskets I would use Felpro. Just remember to use gasket sealer on the head bolts, intake bolts and on the block. I would say this would cost about $600 to do plus your time.
