Starting question

A strange thing happens to my GP when it has been standing for about an hour or so, the car will not fire up straight away, it takes a few turns to start. When cold or red hot it is fine, any suggestions?

Im not to familiar with the 3.4. Does the starter turn the engine quick?

If its not that then it seems fuel related. Check your fuel pressure at key on no start, idle, 1000, 2000, 3000 rpm's. If they check out, check the resistance of you fuel injectors.

I believe they are high impedence injectors so they operate at around 12.5 to 16 ohms. 12 and below, reliablity is low.

The reason why I think they are the injectors is that 70k-100k is around the time when the injectors need to be replaced. They can be cleaned but only during low to mid mileage. In higher mileage situations, the solenoids have taken enough abuse that they call it quits. When cold or hot they can be fine. But the problem is because the contractions in the coil inside the solenoid. This causes the hard or no start situations. Also when hot, the car can bog or a rich exhaust smell.

If that checks out, give me a little while to think this one out.
