Robby1870
I can tell you how do it. I just did the STE's a couple of weeks ago. Take the dogbone off Helps to take the airbox off too Unplug each cooling fan Take off the two bolts that hold each fan on (10mm) Remove both fans Drain the radiator via the stop cock Undo the upper hose (either at the radiator or the engine, whichever is easier). Undo the lower hose (again, at either end, try to catch all of the coolant that comes out) Undo the tranny cooler lines (hose clamps) Undo the overflow hose (hose clamp) Take off the three bolts that hold the top radiator retainer on. (10mm or 133mm) Remove the retainer Remove the radiator Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure and bleed the systems after filling it. 95oldsVan
Do you have Line wrenches? (may not be the correct name) Theyre special wrenches to take off tranny cooler lines off the radiator without stripping them. You dont always need them but theyre very good to use for lines such as these. If one doesnt know what I mean, they look just like a regular wrench but have a much smaller opening to just get the wrench over the nut and fit perfect around it. THe_DeTAiL3R
Regular wrenches worked fine when I took off one of the tranny lines to add my oil cooler... as long as it's not horribley rusty I don't think it should be that bad. Crimson Fury Z
tis completed! the only hassle was getting it out, being cautious w/the cooler lines. i thought they had gotten me the wrong radiator, it has fittings on the driver side! after calling, the guy said they usually make those more universal than an exact match. those fittings had their own tube that connected them(*whew*) all was good. also found out i got an oil cooler along w/the tranny cooler!(probably standard w/a 3.4......) so that up'ed my day, and i also washed it.(at least the still clear coated areas look good! ) so now i await the next problem to appear. w/ 200,800odd miles, you know its got to!
