ctx46 Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 hello, im going to be re-building my motor this fall, and Im looking to bump the CR up to 10:1 or 10.5:1... and Im wondering if the ecm would get confuzed @ all, or if I would run into any other problems because of it.... thanks Joe Quote
Brian P Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 just may have a rougher idle, need to use premium gas, the ecm might need some tuning to get the proper mixture at WOT. you planning on a high lift cam to benefit from the compression? Quote
ctx46 Posted May 8, 2003 Author Report Posted May 8, 2003 I should benifit enoughf from the bump in compression to make it worth it... (all fo the machiening will be done for free ) and if they mad a cam for the LQ1, i would buy 4 of em... but they dont... (imagine that eh... lol) I know about the idle and the premiun gas issue, but I just dont want to over look anything, and loose relyability... later joe Quote
brian89gp Posted May 8, 2003 Report Posted May 8, 2003 Well, you could still use 87 gas but the tuning would need to be changed, likewise if you jump up to 91-93. So pretty much, it will need tuning. Quote
ctx46 Posted May 8, 2003 Author Report Posted May 8, 2003 what would I be looking @ as far a the tuninng goes.... I have a 96 so the yunign would be a bitch... god damned OBDII lol Quote
