FTP is the ability of the car to have the high beam lights flashed as an indicator to other drivers. FTP is only enabled when the headlights are off. Obviously when your headlights are on, you can flash thehighbeams. You operate ftp by pulling back on the turn signal stalk. I'm not asking for a discussion about the relavance and usefulness of FTP. I don't have day time running lights in either one. I know they didn't make 4 doors in 99 and 89... except I'm sure they built pre-production prototypes. (they did made 4 door Luminas as early as 87) I need to go to bed! 90 Lumina Euro sedan (square column, what do you mean by stamped VIN?) the metal vin tag you look at though the windsheild is stamped on 89 and earlier cars (letters are raised, they are stamped from behind), and engraved on 90 and newer. the engraved tag also has a barcode... I do not know if any other GM cars were 90's with 89- vin tags. it means GM cranked them out in early 89 before the 90 model cars are normally produced.
