95oldsVan
Is there a trick to get the cap off the block without doing any damage? The engine I need to pop this off is STUCK on there.I removed the hold down clamp and screw off and the cap will not budge or tap off.Im sure I could pursuade it off with some BFH or something and chisel but wanted a tried method already, dont want to damage it in any way. Thanks for any tips... Crazy K
I've used a vice grip on the lip edge. snap it on and try to rotate it... then pull up while rotating to get it to budge
95oldsVan
Thanks,Ill try that too...I tried channel locks sideways on the round side twisting back and forth, but it didnt budge so Ill try the vise grip on top lip edge. That seal definitely had a leak there when I tore the engine down to the block,so gotta get it done...has alot of mileage though, hope it didnt fuse itself in there.
