Z34-5speed
Alright, as most of you know i have a freakishly slow 92 Z34 5 speed. My best time before Ben's Chip was a 16.462@ 83.83. Well i went to the track tonight because i installed Ben's Chip for my car. I love this chip. I ran a 16.292@85.36!!! I picked up 2 tenths and 2mph!!! I am ecstatic about this. I am still wondering what is causing my car to be pitifuly slow for what it is. The only thing i think is left is the timing, i wish Ben lived closer and i would have him time it +6-6. My 60ft was basically identical to the 16.4 run. With the chip the 60ft was 2.471,m without the chip it was 2.478. The weird thing is that i took the car last week before the chip and it ran a 16.5 but the 60ft was a 2.35. I thought that i launched better this time, but i guess not. I highly recommend this chip to any1. Ben was great to work with, i ordered the chip on a thursday night and got it in on Monday morning. White93z34
before modding it more you really need to find the root of your problems. is it still pulling codes?
95oldsVan
Ever do a compression and leak down test on the engine?if not,do so,it may bring in some clues...if the engine is worn,it will not make the power you want,no matter what you do. But am glad to hear you found some improvement with your tuning.I also noticed some cars are just freakishly fast from the factory and others are so-so. Z34-5speed
The car hasn't been throwing any codes since i put the chip in, i had Ben shut the EGR off because i think it was bad. I don't know how to do a compression test. Well some of reasons i started to mod it was because i thought that some of the probelms were with some of the stock parts. The exhaust was pretty clogged so i had to have it done. Thanks for the input guys. Kyle
digitaloutsider
Your cat may be painfully clogged. You might want to look into that to see if it's the source of some of your problems.
turby
Never heard anything bad about Ben.
Z34-5speed
The cat was clogged about 3 months ago. I put a new one on with my new exhaust. Kyle
19Cutlass94
Hows your timing?! If thats off a few degrees that could really mess it up. Im not really sure what it should be on these motors ( especially yours ) but thats something Id look into.
94CutlassSLCoupe
Seriously, there's got to be something wrong when my bone stock 3100 car can turn a 16.584@81 with traction issues and you can barely beat me even though you should have 50 more HP
Z34-5speed
I am going to take it to the local Chevy dealer and have them check the timing, i dont trust the mechanics around here. Kyle

Z34-5speed
Here is a video of the 16.2 run. I am racing my best friend Timmy's 04 GMC Sierra 2500Duramaxx. The guy filming is a friend from High School and the skilly girl is Tim's GF and the big fat friend is just there. 95oldsVan
A compression test can be done fairly easy...Its a tool that looks alot like a fuel pressure gauge...It has a long hose attached to a gauge and the bottom of the hose has a 14mm threaded metal part that would screw into your spark plug hole.Disconnecting the fuel pressure.coils and injector harness,so you dont start the car,you remove the plugs and install the gauge into one cylinder one at a time...for each cylinder you turn the starter over and let it crank a few times...the pressure should rise on the gauge to about 150 or whatever your engine specs call for.Do each one and see if theres a difference bteween noted cylinder.10 psi apart is acceptable...more than 10 means somethings wrong. Write down what each cylinder shows and how much compression is noted. A leak down test needs to be done by an shop that has the equipment. They used compressed air and run it into a plug hole and then they wait and see if theres any leakage past the rings or seals or etc. I do hope your issue is just timing and you get the resolved soon. But doing a simple compression check never hurt the car.I knew someone who borrowed my gauge for his V8 350 engine...he had say(cant recall exact) 145-155 psi in 7 cylinders but was only getting 90 psi at one of them .We knew there was something wrong with the 8th having a low psi and that led to discovering he had worn valve guides and bad rings upon inspection. slick
You know, you should really consider not getting on the gas or taking your car to the track with it not running correctly.
luminal67
if you can find a way to take those 60fts down to like 2.1 or 2.2, that would take you into the 15's easily. correct me if i'm wrong, but doesn't 1 tenth better 60's give you about 3 tenths in the quarter?
