timing still off maybe?

so I retimed it yet again, and it seems to idle and run close to normal, but it still lacks power, and what's really weird is that once up to speed (55 or so) when i let off enough but still hold on to speed, it seems to buck a lot and its very noticeable. would this point to the timing still being off by a bit, or something else that anyone can think of? my transmission seems to be hitting 2nd hard, but it's only done that since this timing problem. also, I now have another SES light (could still be an egr valve i suppose) i think im just going to take it in tomorrow and get it all timed and everything once and for all
