Squeaking from rear

My 96 GPs rear suspension has started squeaking recently. It only happens when I either have a couple people in the backseat (more weight) or when I go over certin kinds of bumps, like at my one friends house there is a big bump in the sidewalk entering the driveway. I bought the car a few months ago and I have a ton of receipts for things done to it going back 2 or 3 years. The previous owner told me the rear struts had been done and I remember seeing a receipt for it, but now I cant seem to find it. Could this be anything besides the struts?

The pads on the ends of the monoleaf could be worn out.

Check the FAQ section for instructions on how to change them out  ...

My GS had the same problem. I had the rear struts changed out and it took care of the "squeaks". I know that you said the rear struts were changed by the previous owner but the question is how long ago and was it actually done? Not saying that someone would fib but I know that when I replaced the front struts on my car I was told that they still had the original OEM struts on...after the DEALER told me they had been changed out. Go figure.

All the reciepts for work done to the car were in the glove box. I thought I saw one for rear struts in there, but now i cant find it. The noise isnt bad now cuz it only happens once in awhile. But im afraid that when I get my system in it'll weigh the back of the car down and make it squeak more.

Well, depending on how much your system will weigh, it shouldn't affect the noise that much. I've got a box with 2 12's in the trunk as well as my amps and that was about the time I started noticing the squeaking sound. At first I thought it was something in the rear dash area rubbing against something. It was more of an annoyance, especially when going over speed bumps and such. If you really think the rear struts were replaced then you might want to look into the monoleaf pads as Disco said. I've read a few posts of his and it looks like an easy fix to replace them.
