Psych0matt
i don't see why not. it does the same thing, just cleaner. it would be like switching back to a regular air filter from a k&n
RJansen658
LOLOLOL DO NOT SWITCH BACK. All of your seals will shrivel up and die, You will start burning oil, Your oil will always be black. LOLOLOL NOT! It makes absolutely no difference if you switch between synthetic and regular oils. Mix them together if you want. It doesn't matter. SigEpCutlass
right... anyway the oil I use it atleast "refined" in the USA. Amsoil is based in Wisconsin. I honestly don't think you should switch back. Synthetics already provide superior protection from wear than conventional oils (Amsoil, Royal Purple, Mobil 1). It's already been said that increasing the oil weight doesn't help with the ticking when cold (ToroToro). If you're concerned with engine wear from the ticking, stay with Synthetics for better lubrication and protection. However, if you insist on switching, there's no problems that I am aware of when switching back to conventional oil. I don't see the point if it's not going to help. 97loudcut
I vote sigepcutlass for the spokeperson for amsoil. Jk you give me good info and I appreciate it. I switched back to a sytnhetic blend. I cannot justify putting royal purple or any other 7 dollar a quart oil into the cutlass. Please nothing negative. Although I do appreciate everyones input. ROFL! Just stating the facts. I couldn't be happier with Amsoil's products, so I'd reccomend them to anyone. Any of the three Synthetics I commonly mention are all great products. I think I pay about $7 a quart or less for the Amsoil I buy through my Dad's dealer. I know on Amsoil's website they charge you something like $9 a quart. Btw, if you're so interested in beating that 3400 Impala on the strip, I would have stayed with all the good stuff. hehe

Brian P
it's too bad it's not a true synthetic anymore. I used to use it religiously, now not as much. It's dino-oil based.
White93z34
if you still wnat to use a synthetic just use wal*marts synthetic oil.
per0781
i use amsoil in my cars and my parents cars. nothing like changing the oil every 25,000 miles and changing the oil filter twice during the 25k. plus you save a decent amount of money as well. mobil 1 is the first true synthetic oil made thats what i will be using on the engine i build for every car i build from day1 Amsoil was the first to introduce synthetic oil in 1972. Mobil 1 is to oil what Fram is to oil filters. They both have great marketing don't they?

SigEpCutlass
mobil 1 is the first true synthetic oil made thats what i will be using on the engine i build for every car i build from day1 don't break it in with synthetic I'm not so sure I'd break in a brand new engine with it either, unless the engine was designed from the factory to run on a full synthetic or Synthetic blend like Eileen's Mazda6s. I don't know what if any impact that would have.
