How hard is it to install a keyless/starter/trunk release in your car?

its pretty straight forard, it will take you the better part of a saturday and a 12 case of canadian to get done. :lol:

 

my advice to you is READ the INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!!!

 

and be PATIENT with it.

Its electrical, once you give the instructions a read through, it should be a peice of cake for you.

12volts red + ignition harness

Starter yellow + ignition harness

Ignition pink + ignition harness

Second Ignition dark blue/white + ignition harness

Accessory orange + ignition harness

Second Accessory purple/white + ignition harness

Power Lock lt. blue + either kick

Power Unlock black + either kick

Parking Lights+ brown headlight switch

Notes: Also found low in the drivers kick panel.

Parking Lights -

Door Trigger white - headlight switch

Notes: Also found low in the drivers kick panel.

Dome Supervision use door trigger

Trunk/Hatch Release black + release switch

Tachometer pur/wht or white ac igniton coil

Notes: Also found at the instrument cluster as white.

Brake Wire white or lt. blue + brake switch

Horn Trigger black - steering column

 

 

BTW, for trunk pop, you will need a relay. Hope this helps.

http://bulldogsecurity.com/ is a great place to get free wiring diagrams, but most of their stuff is garbage. Good luck with the install, if you have any problems with a specific ckt some of us have installed them before and we should be able to get you through it.

The trunk popper on my UNGO system is just spliced into the wiring from the trunk popper button under the dash :? (I know this because when I installed my fog light switch (right beside the trunk popper) I saw how the installer just spliced it on lol....I hate when they do that but whatever it works fine...

I have a bulldog system (from previous owner) and I haven't had any problems with it other than the remote breaks easily. I actually like the way it does things, but I also can't say ive had any experience with other aftermarket setups

I looked it over. It looks a lot more complicated than I thought. :lol: I'll have to pay someone to install it I guess... haha
