cutlsp Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 replace it... the only tail light repair stuff I know of is that weird as hell tape. Quote
92 GP Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 i actually have to agree with james here ( ) Yea, i don't know of too many ways that would make it look good in means of repairing it. If you were just gonna get it inspected, heck yea, tape that mofo. But for doing tinting over it, You could easily make it look good fixing it then puttin tint on it, but once it lit up, you'd see the lines Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 I think it will look like crap if you try to fix it. Can't be hard to find another one at the wreckers.. Quote

Dirty Rockstar Posted July 3, 2006 Report Posted July 3, 2006 Why not just head to the salvage yard and buy a new tail light.. Quote
GP1138 Posted July 3, 2006 Report Posted July 3, 2006 Why not just head to the salvage yard and buy a new tail light.. Why go through all that work for a piece that's probably readily available consdering the vintage of your car? Quote
jeremy Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 Why not just head to the salvage yard and buy a new tail light.. it would probably be cheaper then the repair it too Quote
SigEpCutlass Posted July 5, 2006 Report Posted July 5, 2006 I would just go to the J/Y and find a tail light in good condition. Hell, you might be able to find one on ebay if you're lazy. Quote
Psych0matt Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 or you can use this http://www.urethanesupply.com/repairtaillights.html thank you! hey, that's neat Quote
1990lumina Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 or you can use this http://www.urethanesupply.com/repairtaillights.html thank you! hey, that's neat seems like a lot of work to get it right though...maybe on a car where it can't be found in a junk yard and dealership wants $500 a lens...but for a W I think j/y is best bet Quote

I know out here if you expect a broken taillight with red tape to pass inspection, they bring the car to a recycling center, crush it, and give you a receipt with "try again" on the back. Quote
White93z34 Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 just smash it and throw it away already. Quote
cutlsp Posted July 6, 2006 Report Posted July 6, 2006 Wonder if that repair job would work on lip spoiler tail lights prolly would...... Quote
jeremy Posted July 7, 2006 Report Posted July 7, 2006 Wonder if that repair job would work on lip spoiler tail lights prolly would...... see now that is the type of light I would consider trying to repair a chip on.....one that isn't easily and cheaply found Quote
96GranSport Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 I think that stuff would work great on a smaller hole but the one you've got looks pretty large. I think that the time it would take to fix that the way you'd want it to look would be better spent finding one in a salvage place and putting it on. How much would it suck to go through all the trouble to "fix" the old one, only to find out it looked like crap to ya...and you went and bought another one anyway? Quote
