Guest TurboSedan Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 I was looking gear ratios for the 282, and 3.77 in first coupled with the 3.61 final drive would give some pretty good first gear acceleration. 2.19 for 2nd aint that bad. Robby oh yeah, and it's an advantage that will win a race against a car that has a higher HP output - like a car that makes good power up high but is a dog down low. if you can get a good launch and a good 1-2 shift (with a 3.1/manual), you'll be up at 40mph in NO time. i mean, not like a WRX would, but still.... there is a downfall to the 282. once i get the turbo on there, i will probably have some major traction issues getting off the line (just ask TGPilot or Eclipse5302). with my car being n/a right now, i can barely spin the tires from a stop....BUT that's because i'm up at 7200ft+ altitude. if i go down to 4500ft i can absolutely roast the tires from a stop. joshua Quote
Robby1870 Posted May 4, 2003 Author Report Posted May 4, 2003 yeah in KY where I live we are like 200ft above sea level, and mine with the auto right now, will white smoke em (although just a little). Yeah, I figured with the 282, I would have a lot more traction problems, especially with the turbo. Oh well, its just tires, right? I remembered you said the A/C wont work, right, something about the '90 A/C circuit or something was different than the '92. Do you know how to make it work? Or how hard it would be to make it work?
