Supreme Cutlass Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 After reading about Brian's new hood, I was wondering why you'd reduce weight in the front. correct me if I'm wrong but I thought you wanted more weight in the front and less weight in the rear in a fwd car? Quote
97loudcut Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 The hood is not going to make any diffrence when you whole ENGINE is allready up front. Also I belive this hood has functional scoops, maybe not. Quote
94CutlassSLCoupe Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 if you reduce wieght on the front wheels, the car will handle better...these things are so front heavy its rediculous Quote
ToroToro Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 Yeah, whether it be FWD or RWD, you want to be as close as you can to a 50/50 weight balance. As said, these cars are front heavy. Quote
1990lumina Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 what is the wieght distribution like anyway?? My rx-7 is near 50/50, never knew what my Lumina is Quote
ExZion Posted July 2, 2006 Report Posted July 2, 2006 HEHE my car is almost a perfect 50/50. if anything its alittle heavy in the rear. Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted July 3, 2006 Report Posted July 3, 2006 Yeah, whether it be FWD or RWD, you want to be as close as you can to a 50/50 weight balance. As said, these cars are front heavy. For handling, yes. For traction, especially winter traction, it's preferable to have as much weight over the drive wheels as possible. It depends on what your wants are. Quote
