backside of the block, I wanna say closer to the pulley end of the block. Should have one (maybe two, cant remember) wire(s) coming from it.

Wrong Robby. That is for the 3.1 MPFI. On the 3100 it is located above the oil filter on the front of the block. It has a really flimsy grey connector on it with IIRC 2 or 3 wires coming out of it.

Well, I went down there this morning.. I have spark.. I hooked a spare plug to the wire and tried cranking.. I could hear it arcing, and it was doing so regularly.. No irregular patterns..

..The damn fitting for the Fuel filter is leaking, and it happens when I try starting it, so I know the pump is pumping, but as for how much, Im not sure..

..And as for the crank sensor, I followed the wiring down to where it enters the block below the PS pump, but I couldt see a way to get it out of there.. I will try looking at the one above the oil filter.. I was going by what the manual I have said..

..I am about done with this piece of shit.. What pisses me off is the suddeness of the problem.. As I said, all morning that day it ran fine.. But when I was gettin ready to go home the pile just died out and wouldnt start..

I hate this thing..

Yeah, I thought he was putting 3100 coils on a 3.1L, not the other way around. My bad.

.

FYI: The 3x CRANK sensor is still on the rear of the block. The CAM sensor is up front near the timing cover, the 24x crank sensor is behind the crank pulley, and the knock sensor + oil pressure sensor are on the front. :)

DOH! I mixed up the locations. Sorry Robby you were right.

Well robby, I got the bolts off the chasis for the straps without cutting my fingers off, and got them both off in about 5-10 mins.. :willynilly:

That's quite an accomplishment! I got one of my front strap bolts out easy, but when taking the other out, I thought the whole time it was gonna snap off. Luckily it didnt. It took me like 2 hours to get the tank out and about 45 min to get it back in. There was much de-rusting/prep time in between though.
