'97 Cutlass Supreme 4 door.

The mirror lights and the lights by the rear doors wont shut off, even with the ignition on. Hitting the switches makes the lights blink off but they come right back on. I also pushed in on each of the door switches to see if they went off but they didnt.

I had to pull the fuse to get them to stay off.

What could be the problem?

It rained all day today, heavy at times. I dont know if that affects anything or not.

Disconnect the Light switch, and see if they turn off. If so, than replace the switch. This is also gonna sound like a really obvious question, but are you sure that the switch for the interior lights is off?

You mean the switch on the dash?

The switch was definately off when I was checking it out. The switches for all 4 lights were also off.

Yea, i meant that one. Next step I would do is disconnect the switch, and if possible hook up another one. If the lights function normally with the new switch, than you have found your problem

yeah I believe the theater dimming circuit is in the headlight switch, if that failed then they may stay on due to that.

Ill have to check it later. Is it easy to get to the switch?

My brother borrowed the car (my father's car) so its not here now.

after pulling off the drivers/center dash bezel, yeah. I think it just snaps out after that.

Well this problem seemed to fix itself. I put the fuse back in to try to work on it and the lights went out when they were supposed to.

Weird but its fine now.

Same thing happens to my 95 4 door cutty every time it rained. I sold that car without figuring it out.
