skiiirt
Well I got my car booked into a muffler shop. After much debate last year and all the pissing around I had to go through I've finally committed to a shop and booked my car in The specs are as follows: Catalytic Converter Deleted Magnaflow Resonator Dual Magnaflow Mufflers (14829) Magnaflow Exhaust Tips For a grand total of $525 CAD (Including GST) Car goes in to the shop Wednesday July 5th. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ UPDATE __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Got the car back. They said some of the piping was still in decent shape so they shaved even more off the cost! Total installed cost to me was $468. I am very satisfied with the work and the sound of the exhaust. slick
Magnaflows sound great! Good thing you are picking up a resonator, you will need it! sweet! i didnt know we had a U-bend? or is it just for the dual exhaust cars? I've never seen one on a first gen, let alone heard of one on a first gen either.
skiiirt
sweet! i didnt know we had a U-bend? or is it just for the dual exhaust cars? Ok, I just checked the exhaust, there is no U-Bend. But I have a suspicion that the U-Bend he was talking about was where the piping bends underneath a portion of the rear suspension. Lets just forget I even said U-Bend Delete. yes it does good choice paul... why so long before you get in, is ABC that booked up still ABC says they are too busy. Plus I told them I would be more relaxed on the timing if they we're more relaxed on the price Anyone know what a "Mid Pipe" is ?? I am looking at the items he wrote down and their corresponding prices. Seems kinda expensive. Quote: 300 - Dual Mufflers 75 - Pipe Extender 99 - Resonator 129 - Mid Pipe 100 - Tips It's like being 5 years old and knowing you have a full load of christmas presents waiting to be unwrapped but you cant open em for another week. However since I am paying next to nothing for the labour and the fact that at those prices the materials is 600+. Dunno. What you guys think of the price

Cam'ron
the ubend is AFAIK nothing more than the place they put in to get a more accurate reading from the downdraft 02 sensor, and that is... this is where i am not sure... just a obd2 thing??? as far as your mid pipe... all i can think of it the bulk of your exhaust tubing between the cat/resonator and the mufflers... could be wrong given the price that i paid for my system there, thats a great price,,, your getting alot more parts than i did and more work involved in getting it in. what did they say about your manifold leak? skiiirt
what did they say about your manifold leak? They said the noises were associated with the leaky exhaust everywhere else. We'll see when it gets installed I guess

RJansen658
I have to say... exhaust is the biggest rip off there is. I worked at top value for 2+ years, all we did was exhaust... Your mid pipe for instance probably cost the exhaust shop $35-$40, and that extension pipe....less than $10. And thats assuming they bought a prebent pipe from thier supplier... if they wanted to they could've just bent you up a mid pipe from a tube stick for less than $10 assuming they have a decent bender. Exhaust parts re so cheap its not even funny. I put an entire exhaust on my lumina from the cat back for less than $40 when I was paying top values suppliers prices.... jeremy
that looks/sounds pretty decent....I would definitely try to find a body colored rear panel to replace the stock one though
skiiirt
Thanks! Its a 1000000x improvement. Especially the last few days before I took her in. I have to say... exhaust is the biggest rip off there is.... Exhaust parts re so cheap its not even funny. I put an entire exhaust on my lumina from the cat back for less than $40 when I was paying top values suppliers prices.... Such is the life of someone in the right trade. Unfortunately I don't have the time/effort to do this kind of work. But paying 30% less on average is a much welcomed deal. I assume the markup is why I wasnt even charged a "labour" cost. that looks/sounds pretty decent....I would definitely try to find a body colored rear panel to replace the stock one though I've contemplated the same thing myself. The black back end has grown on me because of the rarity, atleast in this city. Out of all the 4-Door cutlasses in this city, you could count the number of cutty's with the black panel on 2 hands. However if I do come across one in the junkyard I'd be hard pressed not to take it home.
