Nick1234
When i went to put the new pads in the rear, i went to screw in the piston but it never went in. i kept turning it and nothing. I also tried just compressing it and no luck there. Does that mean the caliper is yet again bad. Also, the boot around the piston is ripped, does that aswell mean that this caliper is fucked. Oh yea. i wish this would just be easy. Nick
slick
You have to screw and compress at the same time.

Nick1234
with the boot being ripped, is it still good?
slick
with the boot being ripped, is it still good? Well, I was always able to pull back the boots on all of my perfectly functioning calipers to apply grease to the outside of the piston. I mean, as long as it doesn't appear that theres a ton of crap getting in there, it should be fine to drive. But, I would only drive on it long enough until you can get it replaced. Look for the guy at the counter with really really thick glasses. He will never notice! In all reality, if you are really worried about them not accepting the lifetime warranty, glue the boot back together(but atleast try to do a decent job at it so it doesn't look crappy). Crazy K
yeah it should not be a problem. take them back. what I did with my autozone ones was taken them back and got a full refund for being disatisfied with them, that means I even got the core charge back!!!! about $200 in all. I upgraded using parts fropm a 94+ that had had a recent brake job. cost? about $20. My upgrade made me money, you can't beat that!!!!
