My autos teachers said i should just get a whole new catback system. I was looking at the magnaflow universal cat its around $50. I need help knowing.... How much this will cost to install? What brands i should use? Should i run a whole different setup? Also I don't want to spend lots of $ but just throw me out ideas. YOur greatly appreiated ALSO, I get my liscense SATURDAY finally!!!! 97loudcut Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 the sertup i run (am going to run) on my 3100 consists of a magnaflow universal cat, glasspack (random brand from my uncles shop i think its "turbo glasspacks") and a SUmmit Turbo muffler i think it is going to sound good. Quote
mischief3003 Posted June 22, 2006 Author Report Posted June 22, 2006 What exactly is a glasspack ive heard of it before but dont know what it is. I was looking at summit for mufflers too. Does any1 know if walker mufflers are good? Quote
94CutlassXtreme Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 A glasspack is essentially a resonator surrounded by packed fiberglass. Quote
Z34-5speed Posted June 22, 2006 Report Posted June 22, 2006 You could do many things. If you want to keep the cat, then definately go with Magnaflow. Glasspack shouldn't matter too much, except with the sizes. You could get a small glasspack, 12inch, or a large glasspack, 18inch. If you want to go cheaper, then go with one muffer to dual tips, that way you dont have to buy 2 mufflers, just 1. I would go with Magnaflow mufflers. Flowmasters sound a little too raspy and loud for my taste. Magnaflows are a bit mellower, but still have a real nice tone under power. When i had my catback done it cost me $540, US. That included a new cat, new 2.5inch piping, new 12inch glasspack, dual Magnaflow mufflers($85 apeice), and finally dual tips. For just one muffler i would guess around $400, depending on what the shop charges you. Kyle Quote
