GnatGoSplat
Was your previous dash analog? What year/model car is this?
Slade901
Is this Digital to Digital swap? I would assume you have the same tires when you compared your speed with the previous gauge and the new gauge.
GnatGoSplat
In that case, my suspicion is that the digital cluster is accurate, and your analog cluster was not. The digital clusters simply count pulses (4000-pulses per mile) and calculate speed accordingly, so I think it should be quite accurate whereas the analog clusters are like analog voltmeters, calibrated with resistors, so I think it's probably the analog cluster that was off. Although my 94 Cutty's analog cluster is accurate, the analog cluster in my 90 Grand Prix was way off by about 20%. Then I got a replacement cluster, and it was WAY WAY off, probably 40%! GnatGoSplat
I believe the fuel cutoff is at 108mph which calculates to 174kph (according to this conversion chart). It's virtually impossible for the digital cluster to be inaccurate as the speed is computed, not approximated as is the case with the analog cluster.
