kfahn
OK, as an introduction, I purchased an 1996 Lumina 3100 AC compressor for my car, thinking that it was the correct part for my 1995 Grand Prix 3100. I found that in that year, they apparently redesigned the mount for the AC. If I were to get the bracket and such from the 1996 Lumina, would I be able to switch that, the lines and the dryer over to my GP? GnatGoSplat
No, I don't think so. Your 95 has the hoses on the rear and bolts from the front around the pulley, right? And the 96 uses something like 4-bolts going through the side? If so, no way it will work. The 2 lower bolts on the newer compressor thread into the oil pan, so you'd probably need to change that. You might also have to cut away some metal from the timing cover. Also, the lines come off at the same time as the compressor is removed.
