Loss of Power On acceleration on turns

I recently bought this car. I would like to bring up the fact that this car was in an accident. Minor front right end damage. Subfram was moved but car was on a frame machine to correct this. When I accerelate turning in either direction the car will lose power slightly and it will come back within 1 second. When I am going straight the car has no problem with this and feels tight and quick as it should. Im wondering what to look into to possibly check into. Ive heard suggestions of cv axel, but I want to hear it first hand. Thanks Guys!

FIrst off hows your tranny fluid? If this is no full, going around a corner, it will slip out of gear ( causing your loss of power ) then when your going straight, your fine.

How is your fuel level?? My car will kick out and back on in turns if my fuel level is below an 1/8th of a tank, or your fuel pump isn't doing it's job right....

Hard fast/hard accelerating are you going/doing in the turns???

FYI - if something was wrong with your CV joints I'd hear a lot of clacking when turning.....I don't think it's possible for the joint to actually slip quietly

Does the tranny whine or anything when your doing it? Mine used to do simlar, overfilled about 1.5 quarts and it fixed it.

 I'm not sure that's a good idea...

Um it's definaetly a really BAD IDEA to overfill by that much!!! That is BAD for the transmission dude!

i'd say running half a quart over full woulden't hurt it, since some 4t60/Es have a problem with fluid slosh,

yea but a quart & a half is way too much...

Okay, now that I've found this thread...I've just started noticing the same problem with my GS. About a week ago I was making a left turn and it felt as though the tires were slipping. I just thought it was a traction problem but then I've noticed it has happened a few times since then as well. And always when making a left turn only. I had my tranny rebuilt about 8 months ago and a friend of mine from work mentioned that it might be a good idea to have the filter and fluid changed about now. Anyone think this would be a good idea or just a waste of money? I'm figuring that if the tranny is the problem, it shouldn't be doing this less than a year after being rebuilt. Am I correct?

Just do the filter change yourself, it's not hard or expensive. Couldn't hurt.

I'll be giving that a try, although I'll probably take it back to the shop since the tranny is still under warranty. Don't want to void it by changing out the filter myself. And, if it is the tranny causing this, they should take care if it anyway. Thanx

I had checked the fluid on my tranny today and the dipstick was dry. Damn!!! Good thing it's still under warranty. Had it fixed and turns out a bolt had come loose. Leaked out enough to cause it to slip. So I did learn something valuable. Never assume that, just because something has been rebuilt within the last year, that it won't give you problems. Slipping problem solved though.

Yea...I always check the tranny pan bolts every couple of months....just to make sure they are snug.....i've had a couple work loose....so that is why I check.

Ben suggested 2 to me. And i'ts more like a quart and 1/4'th...

is there a general fix for this other than adding more fluid? When adding the fluid, when it enough cause I definately dont want to overfill and foam it.

I'd like to know the same thing... latelly i've been starting to have some bad problems (slippage, makes the whole car shake) when it shits out of OD to third. Added some lucas trans fix, didn't do much.

If I go get a rebuild if I can change something to stop this and be able to run the correct ammount of fluid i'd be happy.
